Our History

Royce Corporation was founded in New York in 1986 as an international trading firm based in the United States. With its current headquarter located in Miami and offices in Singapore, Belgium, Mexico, India, and Brazil, Royce is actively involved in daily business and commercial activities in over 60 countries around the world.

The company is dynamically involved in worldwide trading primarily focused on non-ferrous (Aluminum, Copper, Brass, Zinc, Lead, Stainless Steel among others) scrap and semi-finished products, in accordance with international quality standards and environmental regulations. This exchange provides dynamic cross-marketing and synergies between consumers and suppliers worldwide.

As part of our commitment to deliver quality service, Royce offers its business partners access to a highly qualified trading team and full service, in-house logistics support staff. Our customers and suppliers benefit from our financial strength and expertise, which includes hedging and financing.

As a result of our strict execution of safety and quality control procedures, Royce Corporation has obtained prestigious government licenses like the U.S. Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) and China’s General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ). Royce is ISO 9001:2015 certified and is an active member of world-renowned entities such as the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries (ISRI) and the Bureau of International Recycling (BIR).

1986 Royce Corporation is Founded in New York City

Royce was established as a trading company in New York City and rubber was the first traded commodity.

1988 Non-ferrous Metal Scrap Division is Launched

Supported by Royce’s previous expertise in Aluminum and Copper, a non-ferrous division was created, which later became one of the core strengths of the company.

1992 Royce Corporation's Brand and Business Activities Reach 10 countries

Royce quickly expanded throughout Latin America and Asia.

2002 Royce Corporation’s Headquarters is Relocated to Miami, Florida

Miami’s logistics capabilities and strategic location made it an attractive hub for continued growth.

2004 Royce Corporation launches its European and Indian Satellite Offices

Royce’s global reach expands further with the vision of becoming a worldwide player.

2010 Asia Headquarters is Opened in Hong Kong

The opening of Royce’s Hong Kong office solidified its international presence and sustained its position as one of the top players in the Asian market.

2011 The Copper Semi-finished business and Minerals divisions are launched

In a move to become more vertically integrated, Royce launched both divisions simultaneously in 2011.

2013 Royce Corporation is present in more than 60 Countries

Royce's unstoppable growth has led us to reach a presence in more than 60 different countries.

2014 Primary Aluminum Trading Vertical is Created

Royce's Primary Aluminum business was established to further expand our value proposition to customers and suppliers in one of our core metals.

2015 Aluminum Billet business is launched

Following the launch of aluminum as our primary trading vertical, the Billet business was a natural step in the company's path to becoming a player with all variations of Aluminum.

2016 Royce Corporation Turns 30

Royce celebrated a happy and successful 30 years in business.

2018 Royce Corporation Creates the Plastics and High-Temperature Alloys Business Recycling Divisions

Our founding team

Roberto Bandel

CEO

Roberto Bandel is the current CEO of Royce Corporation and has over 35 years of experience. He has founded and led several management teams for different companies in manufacturing, consulting, and international trading. Roberto holds an M.S. in Management Science and Engineering, an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University, and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology, USA.

Marian Moscu

President

Marian Moscu is the current President of Royce Corporation. With over 35 years of experience, Marian has founded various companies focused on international trade, manufacturing, and banking. He has also played a crucial role in several management teams for organizations in the same sectors. Marian holds an M.S. in Industrial Engineering, an M.S. in Engineering Planning and Management from Stanford University, and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Universidad Simon Bolivar in Venezuela.

Isaac Weisleder

COO

Isaac Weisleder is the current COO of Royce Corporation. Over his 34 years of experience, Isaac was a founder, director, and member of management teams for several companies specializing in logistics, international trading, and banking. Isaac holds an M.S. in Industrial Engineering, an M.S. in Engineering Planning and Management from Stanford University, and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Technion, Israel Institute of Technology in Haifa, Israel.

ISRI represents 1,300 companies in 20 chapters in the U.S. and more than 40 countries that process, broker, and consume scrap commodities, including metals, paper, plastics, glass, rubber, electronics, and textiles. With headquarters in Washington, DC, the Institute provides education, advocacy, safety and compliance training, and promotes public awareness of the vital role recycling plays in the U.S. economy, global trade, the environment and sustainable development.

Bureau of International Recycling

The Bureau of International Recycling (BIR) is the only global recycling industry association representing around 800 companies and 35 affiliated national recycling federations from 70 different countries. Its members are world leaders in the supply of raw materials and a key pillar for sustainable economic development.

China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association Recycling Metal Branch

China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association Recycling Metal Branch (CMRA) is the only association in China’s Nonferrous Metals Industry as an important consultant and assistant to the governmental decision-making department under China Nonferrous Metals Renewing and Recycling and Utilization. Meanwhile, it is also a bridge as well as a link between a number of enterprises engaged in the recycling nonferrous metals and various sectors of related production, teaching, research, and application.

Canadian Association of Recycling Industries

The Canadian Association of Recycling Industries (CARI) is an industry association made up of over 200 member companies in the recycling sector that process, broker, and consume recyclable commodities, including ferrous and non-ferrous metals, electronics, paper, rubber, glass, textiles, and plastics.

Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism

The Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism is a voluntary supply-chain security program led by U.S. Customs and Border Protection focused on improving the security of private companies' supply chains with respect to terrorism.
